Training Active Bystanders Community Workshop
Have you ever seen someone in distress but weren’t sure how to help? Maybe you weren’t sure that the person needed help. Maybe you didn’t want to make things worse. You’re not alone. The Training Active Bystanders community workshop will give you tools to recognize potential harm and to step in safely and effectively to support your community.
Training Active Bystanders (TAB) is a 2.5-hour, interactive workshop that helps participants know when they are bystanders, analyze situations, and evaluate consequences. TAB is a skill-building process that gives bystanders the competencies to create action plans in the moment or later.
Holliston's first TAB workshop will be held in person on Wednesday, April 2, from 6:30-9:00 PM, at Town Hall. Trainers will be Fr. Carl Chudy and Quabbin Mediation Executive Director Stephanie Hsu. Refreshments will be provided.
Space is limited to 25 participants to ensure the session is focused and effective. The cost of $15 per participant will cover a portion of the training expenses. The Holliston Democratic Town Committee will underwrite the remaining cost. Register today before space runs out!
